The route takes you via prehistoric droveways which have been in use for more than 6,000 years. See numerous Bronze Age round barrows along the way. For some fresh air and fabulous views head up to Devils Dyke. You won't be disappointed. Castle Hill and Ditchling Beacon are both Nature Reserves close by. They are home to orchids, butterflies and many species of birds. Picturesque village Clayton, with its landmark Jack and Jill windmills, is well worth a visit, as is historic Ditchling. |
